We hope that after a period of slackness related to the election campaign in Poland, the new government will immediately get to work. Poland is to face great challenges like creating a long–lasting industrial policy strategy or assuring balance of public finances. Employers expect that the new government will be formed as quickly as possible, and they cant wait the expose of the new Prime Minister. Polish Confederation Lewiatan underlines that entrepreneurs need to know directions of the economic policy and feel stability in strategic decisions.   Law and Justice party (PiS) takes Poland over when both internal situation and economic conditions are good and stable. Current government has prepared quite a reasonable state budget, however, in our opinion the deficit should not be that high.  Additionally, it has started spending resources from the European funds which are at our disposal until 2020, the European Commission has abrogated the excessive deficit procedure for Poland, and – according to Eurostat – the unemployment rate in Poland reached a record low level of 7%. At the same time, we need to face numerous threats from the outside: Russia–Ukraine conflict remains unsolved, an ongoing influx of refugees from the Middle East, Asia and Africa to Europe, retarding economies of China and other Asian tigers might influence the condition of German economy and, consequently, also the state of Polish economy. Additionally, in the EU there are negotiations on climate policy, discussions on the single market, situation in Greece and a possibility that the United Kingdom will leave the EU. All those create tensions which demand running a sensible economic policy in Poland to assure stable functioning of the country and its economy.        Polish Confederation Lewiatan counts that after a period of slackness related to the election campaign – which is governed by its own rules, the new government will immediately get to work – just as we were assured by the leader of PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński. Despite a good economic situation, Poland is to face great challenges – we need to: create a long–term industrial policy and better conditions for R&D and innovation activities, encourage foreign capital to invest in Poland, assure balance of public finance, modernize energy sector and solve the problem of hard coal mining, adjust public procurement law to the EU directive, strive to change emission trading scheme, and finally,  reform the health service and simplify the taxation system. The black list of barriers to the development of entrepreneurship created by Lewiatan remains long. And the above issues are only examples.     We hope that pre–electoral promises which might have a negative impact on the Polish economy and, at the same time, limit creating new workplaces and decrease investment opportunities will not be implemented. We expect that the new government will not increase the budget deficit, which would expose Poland to the conflict with the EU and cause re–abrogation of the excessive deficit procedure for Poland. We take seriously PiSs declarations concerning the support for Polish entrepreneurs and creating better conditions to run a business. We hope that the latter will be reflected in reality.    We are waiting for the government to be formed as quickly as possible and for the expose. PiS is taking a great responsibility for the future of the Polish economy. Entrepreneurs thanks to whom the last 26 years constituted a series of  successes need know directions of the economic policy and feel stability in strategic decisions. Polish Confederation Lewiatan will strive to enhance the conditions for business in Poland. In Manifest Polska 2025 (Manifesto Poland 2025) we indicate ambitious aims, which wont allow to waste what was gained during previous years. Our ambition should be to increase the GDP by 50% within 10 years, to decrease the scale of poverty by half and to enter the eurozone. We hope that the Social Dialogue Counsel, which was called by the President one week ago, will become a social body which the government will consult its ideas with.     Polish Confederation Lewiatan
